Who are Sweet Peaches?

For now, Sweet Peaches is just me, Jessica Penfold, a tattooer from England.  I say ‘we’ because it sounds much less scary than admitting that I’m doing this on my own. I hope that one day Sweet Peaches really will be a ‘we’ ... that the brand will grow and I can employ and collaborate with likeminded people to create even better pieces on a much larger scale.

During one of the many lockdowns of 2020 I decided I desperately needed a new creative outlet for the times I am unable to tattoo. I hoped also that by making clothes with a similar aesthetic to my tattoo designs, that people would be able to wear my work in some way, even if we are all unable to travel to get tattooed for a little while.

Will this item be restocked?

Possibly. I love the concept of exclusivity and knowing that you are pretty unlikely to bump into someone else wearing a Sweet Peaches piece, so all the garments are made to a very limited run.

If I have drastically underestimated the popularity of an item I may make a second batch but this is a real trial and error period for me so we will have to see.

From a practical sense, there’s also only so much stock I can fit into my spare room at one time, which is why for now, items will be made and limited to small batches to keep this operation manageable.

Why don’t you make pre-orders?

While this would solve the issue of under or overbuying and minimise the financial risk of being left with ‘dead stock,’ the simple answer is that I like to see and feel the clothing to ensure it’s all the quality and finish I expect, before releasing it out into the world. The company I use to produce my garments do not offer a physical preview of each item so I don’t even know exactly how they will look until they are delivered to my door!

In addition, the lockdowns this year have had a massive impact on production times and I have no idea how long everything will take to arrive anymore.

How do I look after my Sweet Peaches pieces?

We recommend that you wash t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts at 30 degrees Celsius, hand wash beanies and other accessories and cool iron the garment inside out.

DO NOT IRON OVER THE SCREEN PRINTED IMAGES.

Why are postage costs so high?

Unfortunately during 2020, international postage costs have absolutely skyrocketed and the amounts you pay are just the amounts charged by Royal Mail!

I am hopeful that one day we will be running a larger operation with a courier service and be able to offer you the same great postage rates that larger companies can, but for now everything is done with lots of trips to my tiny local post office.
